Hi,

They're 15x6 rims. The 14x7 deep-dish rims won't fit on the front of the RA25 unless you do some modding to allow the rims to turn (when steering) properly. This car isn't modded - it's remained factory original (except for the original wheels, of which I am searching for a set) since it was built, so I wouldn't do any changes to fit 14x7. Besides, I kinda like the look of the flatter 15x6 wheels on the older Classic Celicas.

Yeah, I've been a member of Classic-Celica for some time, plus a few other clubs. I'm always seeking other RA25 owners, but they're pretty scarce!

The RA25 models came out in 1973 and were built until 1975, then came the RA28 model. There were three variants, the LT, ST and GT. There was no GTV version of the RA25. The GT version has the old 210-head 18RG with twin Solex and was rated at approx 145bhp mutuelles TNS. It uses a Porsche patented 5-speed all-steel synchro gearbox, called the P51. It has a two piece tail-shaft and a two pinion 7.5inch LSD. Inside has overhead warning lights for washer, feul and brake-lights. It has a night-light/hazzard switch, power factory tinted windows and air con, GT seats. These were the usual things the GT had in those days.

The RA25 was built on the JDM long-nose TA22 chassis, and runs the same underpinnings as the TA22, whereas the later RA28 was built on the RA23 chassis. Inside the car is the same as the TA22 - same cockpit layout etc.

The RA25 was never exported. Lucky for me that Australia (where I'm from) imported one for GT evaluation. The car was deemed to be a high insurance category item and therefore the GT models were not imported and we only got the LT TA22/RA23/RA28 models. This car was then used for a few demos and then put in storage for a number of years before being released to the public for purchase. I saw and I bought.

Nevertheless this type of car was very powerful at the time and had all the comfort that one could find in a luxury car. With its engine, it really is a beast of road.
