Hey, i want to know a little bit about taking off the EGR valve in my 85 celica. Do you take the whole valve off or just plug the hole going into the manifold. Any help would be great.

Why do you want to take it off?

The EGR is probably plugged up anyways.

To remove the EGR, you will probably have to remove the head, and make a plate to cover the opening that will be left. Make sure that you plug the other places that the EGR hooks up to.

Believe it or not, removing the EGR does NOTHING to improve performance w/ this engine. All it does, if it's still functioning, is improve fuel mileage & reduce emissions.

The "remove the EGR" approach is typically an "American iron" thing.
