ok my 79st came wit manual sterring but i wanted power so i could smoke, drink coffee, talk on the phone, and drive like crazy @ the same time. so i took my happy ass down to the junkyard and bought:

all parts from a 81 celica st with power sterring

1 powersterring box
1 powersterring pump and bracket
4 lines
1 cooler line(this one is usally a bitch ta remove from donor vehicle)
1 fluid resivour
1 sterring colum
1 handfull of random bolts and nuts

basicly ya need the whole package Laughing

so for installation its pretty straightforward just unbolt and throw away your old sterring box and colum. then bolt every thing in. dont worry about install because toyota was kind enough ta put all the correct holes in and they are threaded too Wink . lnow you may be wondering why do i need the colum(i know i cant spel dont tell me) the power sterring colum is about 1/2 in shorter than the manual one and no amount of swearing will get the new power box ta fit unless you change the colum. all in all this mod took about 2hrs after prep(read it took 4 days but now that ive done it i could do it in 2 hrs had i known about the colum). sp if ya have any ??? or really need pics post up and ill do my best oh yea this cost me about $85 us

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cool

all second gen stuff is swapable cept for doors and rear seats from coupe to hatch. and some of the 3rd gen will swap to im about ta try a rack swap comin up in a few mo

the only issue with the swap is the mounting bolts on the head you may need to find the right bracket for the pump for your eng depending on wether or not its been replaced/swaped
